The Definition of Clueless

I checked out at the grocery store with the following:
2 boxes of chanukah candles.

One guess what the checker said.

Yup. You go it. “Merry Christmas.”

This is a very American thing to say. Nothing to do but say “Thank you. Same to you.” Look at where you are living after all. This would not happen in Crown Heights. AND it is better than being told Happy Chanukah. I really hate that. Some of my best gentile friends tell me that all the time. Ugh.

Also the checker never looks at what she is scanning. Did you ever see Modern Times- Charlie Chaplin. It’s like that.

    Oy

  4. Ruthy Says:

If it weren’t for the alleged war against christmas, I would agree with Mrs. Seid. But ever since they started saying MC instead of Happy Holidays, I correct them. I’m nice, but I say, “Thank you, but I don’t celebrate Christmas.” For many years everyone was getting better, but thanks to Bill Reilly they’re all becoming self-righteous about being ethnocentric.

What is wrong with saying “happy Chanukah?” Clueless here.
